Raising Money

Fund Raising is never an easy task and this is never more so than at the current time.   We need at total of £233,000 to run KCAH during the next financial year and 75% of this will be used to pay the salaries of our 5 paid staff.

Unfortunately, funding is becoming increasingly difficult and the demand for our services is increasing massively.   From     1st April 2010 we will need to receive more than £50,000 extra per year to sustain our staff team and so this matter is causing us much concern at the current time.  We really must have 5 staff but how do we raise money to pay for it ?   Sadly, if we are not able to raise this money, we will be forced to reduce both our staffing levels and the service that is provided by KCAH.

There are a number of ways of tackling the problem and we need all the help we can get.   Can you join us in this effort ?

 1.         Our main hope is that we can increase donations from individuals and churches.   About 150 people and 35 churches give to us regularly.  Thank you so much.   I guess there are 7,000 Christians in the 51 Churches in the Borough.   We want to try and arrange for a KCAH representative to be appointed in each church and then to raise our profile much more.   Would you be able to help us in this capacity ?

 2.         Legacies.   Would you be able to include KCAH in your will ?   If so, this will be a tremendous help.   There have been several times in the last few years where legacies have helped keep our work going and enabled us to continue our level of service.

 3.         Sponsored events.   Could you arrange events in your church to raise money through sponsored events ?

 4.         Charitable Trusts.   This is our main way of raising large sums of money and we have recently submitted 4 applications to Charitable Trusts asking for grant funding.   We know that the Trusts are under very serious pressure from charities for funding and a very large percentage of requests are refused.   Please pray for success.

 5.         Local businesses.    We would like to approach local businesses for help with funding but do not have enough manpower to do this effectively.   Could you help ?

Thank you for any help you can give us with this urgent need.
