Give Thanks to God

·        That we continue to be able to place about 90 clients a year into hostel spaces.

·        That we continue to advise 550 new clients each year and also help 1000 repeat clients.

·        That the Kingston Law Centre can provide specialist legal help in housing and welfare benefits matters.

·        A continuing good relationship with Kingston Council Housing department, the YMCA and Kaleidoscope.

·        For the success of the Night Shelter project in February 2009.

·        That the new Mayor wants to help the homeless.

·        For the YMCA as they continue to accept immediately homeless people.

·        For the hostels which have helped us in providing emergency vacancies.

·        That we are able to help clients as they move into flats. 

·        For our dedicated staff team and for all the commitment and hard work they give KCAH.    Matt, Patricia, Vicky, Jan and Daniela.

·        For the volunteers – Andy, Sue, Elena, Rachel, Ann, Alison and Bob

·        For the loyal support and generosity of the churches and their members who pray and give of their money and time. 

·        For ongoing good relationships with the YMCA and other agencies.

·        For regular donations of food, thermos flasks, sleeping bags and other goods which provide comfort for the homeless.

For tenants who do their cleaning and help with gardening and decorating 

Things to Pray For

·        The Lord’s continuing guidance and direction – and for His ongoing provision of our resources.  

·        For the development of new initiatives – a Night Shelter, a Credit Union and a Trading Shop.

·        That the flow of financial and prayer support from our churches and from private individuals may be sustained and grow.

·        That we will be able to have secure grant funding for, at least, the next three years.    This will allow the staff team to concentrate on developing the work.

·        That we will always be able to meet the needs of those who are excluded from society (e.g the single homeless).

·        For the recruitment of more new members for our Management Board.

·        For the raising of the profile of KCAH so that more local people and businesses know it exists.

·        For the successful set up of a Night Shelter from December 2009 to February 2010.

·        That more of our tenants will find secure and well paid employment.

·        More affordable housing to be available particularly for single people on low pay.

·        Landlords to accept tenants who have to rely on welfare benefits.

·        For new and better houses for the Access Project.

·        That all of our tenants may handle their money well - and pay KCAH on time.

·        For cleanliness and good order in our houses.

·        For more hostel places to be available for drug and alcohol users.

 ·        The ability of KCAH to meet more of the needs of those who come to our door.

·        For motivation to change for those who are dependent on drugs and alcohol.

·        That clients will take advantage of the advice they are given.   

·        That our clients will be able to claim their benefits easily.
