KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !
As a KCAH volunteer, I write to thank people who give money and other gifts to KCAH. I try to show how grateful we are to the churches and individuals who support KCAH with prayers, money and practical help. During the year ended 31st March 2009 we we raised £73,331 through donations. This is £8,000 more than expected and a marvellous achievement by our supporters. Thank you for your ongoing generosity.
As the recession bites and demand for KCAH’s work increases – so does the need for funds. Sometimes staff are run off their feet. This is not surprising since they saw 549 new clients last financial year and 1281 repeat clients. Many had complex problems needing several visits to sort out.
This work can, however, be very rewarding. One Night Shelter client told KCAH “Because of the Shelter, I now have hope that I might have a happy life.” We want to continue to do our best for clients, and to develop our services. Next winter, for example we want to extend the Night Shelter to three months with the help of the churches.
Around Christmas and early in the New Year, I am kept very busy. Some donations are large, some smaller – but they are all appreciated. One donation which touched me deeply was £10 given by one of our clients along with biscuits for the staff. This time of year, I have fewer letters to write, but we still need to pay our salaries and bills !
We need your continuing support to carry on our important work. Could you give us a donation now or could you commit to regular giving ? The form on the back of this page explains how you can claim the tax back as well and give an extra 28%.
